Get To Know Your Breeder

Get to know your breeder!  Ask questions.  A knowledgeable and experienced breeder should never be afraid to answer questions.  IF it pertains to their beloved breed(s), and if you are considering one of their puppies.

There is a difference.  Dedicated breeders devote a lot of love, attention, time and expense to their product.  If you have come this far, then you have decided to purchase a puppy or a dog from a breeder that is proud of their efforts and track record.    Never assume that a breeder will always be willing to accept what you may consider a fair price.  And, don't be offended if you are politely dismissed by the breeder if you make an offer without even knowing what quality that breeder has to offer.

If you are shopping price, then you are in the wrong place.  A rescue or humane society may fit your budget in this case.  Poorly bred dogs often times cost more in the long run because of a poor gene pool.  Many times resulting in health and temperament issues that can cost a lot more than the original asking price of a well bred puppy.  A dog that is a fear biter, as a result of poor breeding, can land its owner in court facing expensive legal costs and fines.  The saying "You get what you pay for." could not be farther from the truth when it comes to the German Shepherd Dog.

While there are many breeders out there that spend a lot of time designing fancy websites, do not be fooled by all the dazzle.  Many times the truth lies in the actual physical brick and mortar location.  Pictures are worth a thousand words, but in this case, they may not even be of their facility, or even their dogs.  If the person on the other end of the phone is seemingly searching for words, or just uncertain, suspect that there may be a fools game being played.

A reputable breeder always welcomes visits by potential puppy buyers.  We are no exception.  If we have puppies available, we would be glad to have you visit our facility with a scheduled appointment.
